What Is Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer?
Breast augmentation with fat transfer is a two-part surgical procedure that combines liposuction and fat grafting to enhance breast volume and contour. First, fat is gently harvested from a donor area using the BeautiFill® laser-assisted system — simultaneously contouring the donor site while preserving the integrity of fat cells. The harvested fat is immediately processed and purified within BeautiFill's closed-loop system, then carefully injected into the breasts in layers to increase fullness, improve shape, and enhance symmetry.
Unlike traditional breast augmentation with implants, this method uses your own natural tissue — resulting in a softer look and feel with no foreign materials and no risk of implant-related complications. While the increase in size is generally more modest than with implants, the results are highly natural, fully customizable, and permanent.
It is also important to understand that achieving the desired breast volume with fat transfer may require more than one treatment session. Because the breast can only accept a limited volume of fat in a single procedure, and because some degree of fat reabsorption is expected during healing, patients seeking more significant enhancement may benefit from a planned series of treatments spaced over time. Dr. Conkright will discuss the appropriate number of sessions for your specific goals during your consultation.
